They maybe served as a main course or a side dish, and may be served in the vessel in which they are cooked. The cooking of a casserole is generally done in an oven to bake. Apfelsaft - apple juice [ x ] Apfelsaftschorle - apple spritzer [ x ] Apfelsaftschorle or apple spritzer is a non-alcoholic drink made by mixing apple juice with sparkling mineral water/carbonated water. It is one of the most popular soft drinks in Germany. Apfelstrudel - apple strudel [ x ] The Apfelstrudel is a type of sweet or savory layered pastry with a filling inside. It consists of of an oblong strudel pastry jacket with an apple filling inside. The filling is of from grated apples, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and bread crumbs. The apple strudel is sliced and traditionally is served warm, often sprinkled with powdered sugar. Aprikose - apricot [ x ] Aubergine - eggplant [ x ]

Guten Tag! I really wanted to post new updates about the Food Vocabulary that I found last week. The lesson about the Cafe last week really inspired me to research about Deutsch cuisine and such. I'm also quite happy with the list I found in an online Deutsch food website. It's where I'll be getting all my food terms & definitions from. The site shares a glossary of food terms! Abendbrot [ x ] According to this article I read from  DAAD , typically Germans do not eat heavy meals in the evening. Most of them prefer to have a slice of bread with butter with one or two cold cuts or cheese. This is what you call an  Abendrot. Abendessen [ x ] Dinner in Germany is always a smaller meal that consists of a variety of breads, meat or sausages, cheese and some kind of vegetables, or sandwiches. abgießen - To Drain [ x ] abkühlen - To cool off, to cool down [ x ] abseihen - To strain, to sieve [ x ]

Guten Morgen! Last week's Deutschkurs was all about the Cafe: how to order, how to pay, what to order, etc. That's why I've been inspired to search for a list of Deutsch terms for their food along with it's Englisch definition. My research yielded a lot of results and I'll be posting updates regarding these terms every now and then.
